Larissa Figueiredo is a Brazilian filmmaker, writer, and educator. She studied Literature at UnB; Film Studies at Université Lumière Lyon 2 in France and Universidad del Cine in Argentina; and Visual Arts/Real Cinema at Haute École d’Art et Design in Geneva, Switzerland, where she was taught by artists like Miguel Gomes, Albert Serra, and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Lisbon, Larissa is an alumna of Locarno Academy and Berlinale Talents and was a resident at Schloss Solitude Akademie in Germany from 2022 to 2023. Her first feature documentary, "The Bull" (2015), received the Visions Sud Est Award and premiered at the 44th Rotterdam International Film Festival before being screened at numerous festivals worldwide. Her first short film, "The King" (2014), won the 9th Rucker Vieira Screenplay Contest.

Larissa works as a screenwriter, director, editor, and producer, contributing to a variety of projects, including short films shown at festivals and TV series for channels like Disney/Star+, HBO, Canal Brasil, Canal Curta!, and CinebrasilTv. In 2016, she founded her production company, Cazumbá Filmes, through which she develops and produces original projects. Notably, she produced the short film "The Street Under" (2019), directed by Tomás Osten, which premiered at the 73rd Locarno International Film Festival, and the hybrid series "Women of Enchantment" (2023), currently airing on CinebrasilTv.

As an educator, Larissa has taught at universities and independent film schools in Brazil and abroad, including EICTV in Cuba, Calarts in the USA, and the DocNomads Erasmus Master in Portugal. She also coordinated the International Academy of Cinema in São Paulo and mediated the “Inventar com a Diferença” project (2013), a collaboration between the Secretariat of Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic and UFF.

Larissa believes in the re-enchantment of the world as an affective, political, and aesthetic way of life. Her films and projects are rooted in these ideas.
